Undoubtedly, one of the most important things to help dogs in shelters is playgroups. At Bound Angels University we encompass the dog playgroup training into our university program and spend our third day on teaching and handling all sizes, breeds and types of dogs in playgroups.
Dogs need to be social in order to thrive in the world and one of the best ways to prove sociability is how dogs play in playgroups. We have a series of videos on playgroup training available for free on the BOUND ANGELS Dog Playgroup Playlist on our YOUTUBE Channel. There are many components in our training, most every one is covered throughout the videos in the series. All of our training is available online and for free in order to help save more lives!
In this video below, taken directly from the last session of Bound Angels we cover the tools, theory and management of the Bound Angels Playgroup training.
Structure and rules are covered as they are the backbone of successful playgroups. When bringing larger dogs together this is more important, but we stress the importance whether you have 3 Chihuahuas or 20 PitBulls. You’ll see in our videos we don’t discriminate against and breed as we are advocates for all dogs and all breeds. Understanding the rules and tools of dog playgroups give shelters the ability to socialize dogs and improve their well being while living at the shelter – and eventually get them into loving forever homes.
We encourage shelters, humane societies, SPCA’s and rescues everywhere to log into our YouTube Training Channel and watch and share our videos. We encourage shelters everywhere to apply to attend our training here in LA at the LA Animal Services Shelter in West LA. We offer monthly trainings and scholarships are available for municipal shelters, SPCA’s and humane societies everywhere. For more information, please go to Bound Angels University.
