Shelter Rescue – saving dogs in shelters nationwide

May 4th, 5th and 6th I will be in Prescott Arizona at the Yavapai Humane Society for a 3 day workshop / seminar with staff, volunteers and management teaching our Shelter Rescue Program.  The focus of this workshop is a better understanding canine behaviors through training and evaluations and how best to save more lives.

I have been to YHS on two other occasions and each time I was taken with their hospitality, but more importantly by the shelters commitment to saving more lives.  We are planning on spending more time on the BARC process and how to best evaluate difficult behaviors as well as programs to help these dogs learn the tools to get into and stay in happy forever homes.  YHS’ program of behavior enrichment and training has saved countless lives since my first visit there over 5 years ago.  I am proud to partner with such a great group of people.

The management of the shelter has opened up 5 slots to neighboring shelters and humane societies.  To apply, please email me with your contact information and your shelter info.  I will get back to you with the details.

The Shelter Rescue Program is provided through an anonymous grant to improve the lives of shelter pets.  The primary goal of the program is to better understand difficult behaviors and manage them rather than destroying them.
